The Fallen Heroes pictured below represent the tragic human cost of the British Forces campaign in Afghanistan since October 2001 and the conflict in Iraq since March 2003.

Servicemen from Staffordshire who have given their lives in active service in Afghanistan include Guardsman Simon Davison who died on 3 May, 2007, aged 22.

Among the soldiers killed in Iraq are Flight Lieutenant Kevin Barry Main, who died in March, 2003, aged 35. Corporal Stephen Allbutt also died in March, 2003, aged 35. On the same day 19-year-old Trooper David Clarke died. Other Staffordshire fatalities include Sergeant Norman Patterson, Private Leon Spicer and Private Jonathon Dany Wysoczan.
