Stoke City: Fans' views

IN all the pre-match interviews TP had said how much he had wanted to win this game. Unfortunately, I think he must have forgotten to tell some of his players.
I have never seen Mama Sidibe have such a bad game, and Ricardo Fuller looked far from interested. In fact, he was guilty of squandering three good chances, which would have given him cup glory.
The referee was of course, the old Stoke favourite Rob Styles, and I don't think we are his favourite team.
His matches often end in controversy and this was no exception. His penalty decision in injury-time was our downfall, but on the positive side it did mean we did not have to endure extra-time in the freezing cold.
Wembley coaches cancelled once again, but we can't play this badly again, so it's back to the Premier League on Saturday and hopefully more enthusiasm and effort from the team.

IT took me more than an hour to travel to the Brit and park up, so I missed the first 10 minutes of the game – not a good omen. I felt even worse when I saw that my 'friend' Mr Styles was the referee. During the first half Derby didn't wilt under our onslaught of Rory's throws and numerous corners.
No sooner had the second half started and Simmo pulled off a great save and as the game went on we were guilty of missing four or five good chances, with Fuller being the chief culprit.
It was a sell-out at the Derby end so they were giving the Boothen roar a run for their money. Just as I was settling down for the dreaded extra-time a stupid handball in the box in the 93rd minute saw us go out.
To be fair though, Derby missed their fair share of chances as well, and Mr Styles didn't help things either as he disallowed us a goal in the first half and then gave a penalty which some refs would not have given - surprise, surprise.
DAVE HARRISON, Eaton Park
AN inept display saw Stoke tumble out of the League Cup. Having done so well to get us here, the likes of Dicko must have been desperately frustrated at being left on the bench. The boys who came in, namely Olofinjana and Fuller, were awful. There was no bite to our performance and we didn't seem interested. It fathoms belief that a side so close to a Wembley trip can play so poorly.
It summed up a bad personal day and I will be glad when I wake up bright and early for my Blackburn tickets. We need to shake off three below-par performances before the weekend otherwise a strong Newcastle side will murder us.
